Google announced a new business hub inside Gemini on October 20, bringing brand visuals and financial analysis into one landing page. If you run a small business, the useful promise is saved setup: Gemini can remember your visual style so you don't have to explain the same colors and fonts every time.

Google says the hub, its new skills and connected apps are beginning a global rollout to all Gemini app users in the coming days. Treat that as a rollout window. The announcement doesn't mean every feature is already waiting in every account.

Start with a job you repeat

In Google's launch post, owners can supply a website or brand kit, including fonts and color palettes. Google says the retained style lets owners "easily generate cohesive, on-brand assets" with Nano Banana 2.1. The hub also connects to services including Google Business Profile and Shopify, and can turn financial records into graphics and interactive models.

Start with a recurring marketing job before connecting the whole business. Choose last week's product announcement and ask for a new version using the same approved style. Put it beside the original. Are the colors consistent? Is the product still accurate? Did the tool alter a detail customers rely on?

A matching palette is useful, but it won't rescue a picture of the wrong product. For a shop, the test is whether the generated asset shows what someone will actually receive. Keep real product photography available and compare before publishing. Your returns inbox is a poor place to discover that the image looked too convincing.

Save the version that passed review and the instructions that produced it. Then repeat the exercise for a different format. That will tell you whether retained style saves work across a campaign, or only makes one attractive example.

Keep the numbers traceable

The finance feature deserves its own trial. Use a copy of a small, familiar dataset and ask Gemini to show which rows support each total. Reconcile a sample yourself. Check how it treated refunds and whether dates were interpreted consistently. A polished interactive graphic can make a mistake harder to notice.

Choose a question you can answer independently, such as which of two product lines sold more last month. Once you trust the extraction and arithmetic, try a less familiar question. That sequence gives you evidence about your records, instead of borrowing confidence from Google's demo.

Connect apps one at a time

Google's Gemini Apps Privacy Hub says disconnecting an app doesn't delete information already stored in Gemini Apps Activity. Review both the connection and the activity settings before handing over customer or business records. Check the policy for your account type, too.

This is especially relevant if you're also weighing Perplexity's new local mode for Mac. One approach gathers your work into a connected cloud assistant; the other offers on-device execution. Start with the files you want help with and decide where you're comfortable processing them.

Gemini's hub looks worth a small trial if repeated brand instructions are eating your afternoon. Give it one recurring job, measure the time including corrections, and expand only when the saving survives review. The best first result is a task you no longer dread doing twice a week.
