Mycel is a console for people who sell the same kind of client work every month. Upload one past deliverable — a close, a proposal, a listing audit — and it drafts the next one for each client. Nothing reaches the client until you approve it. The live demo is the product: drafts waiting, invoices to chase, and a chart of how much of each draft you still rewrite. Setup is an afternoon: describe the service, upload one file, give it this week's work. Hosted Starter is $299 a month after a seven-day free trial; a Product Hunt launch price of $149.50 for three months ends 27 September. Self-hosting is free under Apache-2.0 if you bring a model key. Skip it if the work is one-off, or if $299 is more than a client's monthly retainer.

  • Draft from one past file: Upload a report, proposal, or audit you already sent; it drafts the next one in that voice.
  • Approval gate: The demo holds invoices and first approaches until you edit or send. Corrections become training.
  • Client work, not a chat: Deliverables, requests, invoices, and a client portal live in one console.
  • Rewrite chart: "Still yours" tracks the share of each draft you still change week to week.
  • $299/month hosted, or self-host: Seven days free. Launch price $149.50 for three months, then $299. Self-host is free with your own key.

TMRW VERDICT

For the desk that still reviews every draft

by TMRW Team·Sep 20, 2026

Mycel is having its day — Product Hunt #1 on 20 September 2026 — and the demo is not a slogan farm. The seeded Northgate Studio workspace is the product. Home is a queue: overdue invoices, clients who cannot see what they were asked, drafts waiting. Deliverables is the actual job: a pricing-page copy pack with the SQL behind the tiers, a four-practice listing audit with three concrete fixes, revisions that got sharper after the client asked "which questions are we losing?" That is not ChatGPT with a nicer font. It is a file that waits for you, then goes to the client.

Do not confuse it with Skydive. Skydive is a cloud coworker in Slack. Mycel is the service business that cannot take a week off because every report still crosses one desk. The $299 price is the honest constraint. If you do not already bill retainers, this is the wrong tab. The launch discount ends 27 September; after that you are paying for a full desk, not a writing toy.

Best for agencies, bookkeepers, and solo operators who ship the same shape of work every month. Skip it for one-off projects, for anyone who will not sit in an approval queue, or if you wanted a chatbot.
