Olostep is a web-data API for the agent that needs a live page, not a search snippet. The homepage is the product: a command bar where you paste a URL and pick Scrape, Crawl, Map, Search, or Answer. You get Markdown, HTML, JSON, or a screenshot — JavaScript rendered, residential IPs, billed only when the request succeeds. The same primitives ship as REST, a CLI, and MCP, so Cursor or Claude Code can fetch a page without you pasting HTML into the chat. Trial is 500 successful requests, no card. Starter is $9 a month for 5,000. This is not a research chatbot and not a headless browser you babysit. Skip it if a scraper you already pay for is good enough. Use it if the agent keeps dying because the page is JavaScript and fetch returned an empty shell. Product Hunt had it near the top on 30 August 2026; the interesting part is the five verbs, not the slogan.
Every coding agent eventually tries to read the web with a GET and a prayer. That works on a static docs site. It does not work on the page that matters, which is rendered, geo-fenced, or paginated. Olostep’s bet is that “web data for AI” is five boring verbs and an MCP config, not another crawling platform with a sales engineer.
We are listing it because it is having a week — Product Hunt on 30 August — and because the homepage is an actual scrape bar, not a logo. That is a different job from Skydive (a cloud coworker with a computer) and from BrowserOS neo (a local browser the agent drives). Olostep does not drive the browser. It returns the document.
Skip it if Firecrawl, or the scraper inside your existing agent host, already returns clean Markdown and you do not care about the $9 tier. Skip the “trusted by startups” logo row; that is furniture. Try the 500 free requests on a page that curl cannot see before you put it on a cron.
No stars. We opened the marketing page, pricing, and the MCP snippet. We have not burned the trial quota on a hostile site or compared latency to Firecrawl on the same URL. A score would be a lie.
