Sider Omni is a Mac sidebar that docks to the window you are in — Numbers, Mail, Keynote, Safari — reads that window when a task needs it, and acts there. The product page shows it drafting a sourced reply beside a live browser window. You do not copy-paste into a separate chat tab. One Omni per window, it follows when you drag or go fullscreen, and it can run on existing ChatGPT or Codex credits. Download is live for macOS 15 and later. Setup is real: Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions, Mac only. It does not silently read the screen; it asks when a tool needs the window. Normal chat still works if you decline screen recording. Skip it on Windows, or if another chat window is already enough.

Sider Omni is having its week — Product Hunt on 18 September 2026, a Mac download that exists today, a product shot of a sidebar drafting a reply next to Safari. The idea is not new. Every lab wants computer use. The useful difference is narrower: it docks to the window you are already in instead of asking you to switch to a second browser or a cloud coworker. That is the job ChatGPT still makes you do by copying.
Treat the parent brand carefully. Sider is a large sidebar-and-extension company. Omni is the new Mac agent, not the Chrome gadget with a hundred bots. It needs macOS 15, Accessibility, and Screen Recording. If you will not grant those, it is a chat pane. If you will, the honest test is the one on the launch thread: a table open in Numbers, "make a chart of sales by region," and whether the chart appears in Numbers.
Best for Mac users who already pay for ChatGPT or Codex and keep losing time to copy-paste. Skip it on Windows. Skip it if screenpipe's "what happened this week" is the job, or if BrowserOS neo's isolated agent browser is what you actually wanted. We opened the live product page; we have not installed it on a work Mac. No stars until we have.
